We came upon La Piazza on Open Rice 'cos Lardos Steak was fully booked. But my I must say La Piazza does whip up some good stuff from the kitchen! You know how there are some food you have eaten and the taste continues to linger in your mind. Well, that is exactly what I am experiencing now. On top of that, the service was great! I would say La Piazza has both. Food is good and service is good. There is simply no reason why I would not be returning!
This is what we ordered today:-
1. Set Dinner consisting of (a) Clam Chowder Soup (b) Grilled US Ribeye with Foie Gras & Mash Potatoes (c) Mango Pancake (d) Drinks - all these for only HKD$289 and they do not charge extra for cold drinks which is definitely different from other restaurants. Value for money set dinner and good food. The foie gras was so excellently done I swear the taste still lingers in my mind.
2. Saffron Risotto w. Seafood
3. Mushroom Soup
4. New Zealand Fresh Mussels cooked in white wine
5. Bruschetta
I like the complimentary garlic bread served too! It's something different from other restaurants!
Lastly, would love to add that they are not at all stingy with their portions! Many other restaurants usually cut down on the portion of food served in a Set Dinner. However, in La Piazza, everything in our set dinner was served in its original Ala-Carte portion. Look at the pictures of the Mango Pancake dessert & Soup Ala-Carte size. I am impressed!!!
I have never written any reviews on Open Rice before this, but La Piazza is is definitely one of those few restaurants I would remember and should mention!
