A group of 4 went to this restaurant for gathering on a weekday. Reservation was made a week before so we were seated at one good corner table. After we placed order, people started coming in and the place was packed in no time. We thought that it must be a good sign as lots of people actually came here for dinner.... or perhaps it was due to the recent advertisment and restaurant introduction published on one of the magazines. A group of 4 went to this restaurant for gathering on a weekday. Reservation was made a week before so we were seated at one good corner table. After we placed order, people started coming in and the place was packed in no time. We thought that it must be a good sign as lots of people actually came here for dinner.... or perhaps it was due to the recent advertisment and restaurant introduction published on one of the magazines. At least that was the reason why we came.

The place was modernly renovated and clean but when packed with people, it was a bit noisy... which is normal.

We ordered 四川拼盤小吃、夫妻肺片、水煮魚、豆酥魚、樟茶鴨、麻婆豆腐、陽春麵、擔擔麵、啤酒及花雕。I had to give credits to their food qualities that they didn't compromise by making a dishes less spicy to suit the preference of most of the HK people. Their dishes were kind of original. What needed to be spicy stayed spicy. The 樟茶鴨 was a highlight. If I need to pick out the unlikes, I will say 2 things - 擔擔麵 which was tasteless and the cod fish they used for 水煮魚 was not too sichuan style as the fattiness of cod fish did not go well with the spice. Apart from that, the food qualities were pretty alright.

But their services.... The problem was absolutely about their services. We had been waiting for our orders for quite a long time and other tables which came later than us were served with the same dishes we ordered. Despite the difficulty of getting a server (as they were all busy running around and a young female waitress was trying hard to ignore us as well), we asked them to check for a good few times before one waiter told us that our order record was missing and need to reprint again. Well...ok we waited patiently and the food eventually came with some more confusions - what ordered were missed again and what we did not order come twice.

According to one of their experienced waiters we talked to at last, many of their servers are temporarily replacements only - some of those young ones there were obviously untrained and unfitted to work in a restaurant.

I think the management of this restaurant needs to do something about the staffing problem. Would we go there again soon Probably not and if the servicing during weekdays are like this, one should definitely avoid to go there on weekends. Good luck.
