My cousins love shaved ice, so we decided to have some shaved ice for afternoon tea on New Year's Day. We were shopping at the Totoro shop at Times Square, so I brought them to Hanbing for shaved ice.Hanbing's location is a little awkward as it is not accessible by elevator, and you have to go to the 9th floor and ride up an escalator to reach it. Hanbing's location is a little awkward as it is not accessible by elevator, and you have to go to the 9th floor and ride up an escalator to reach it. That might explain why the shop was pretty empty when we got there.
We were seated at the table that was very dirty, and the server tried to clean it up with a dirty rag. She basically just dragged the rag once over three quarters of the table. There were still visible stains on the table after she was done.
I took out some wet wipes and cleaned the table again. Then, we asked for some water, and we were given a bottle of water and a stack of cup that were still wet.
As you can see from the picture, there were many water droplets on the outside of the cup!Since we were pretty full from lunch, the five of us decided to split one shaved ice.

For this review, I'm definitely struggling on whether to give it an ok or sad face as the snow ice tasted really good, but the service and sanitary conditions were not acceptable! It would definitely be a happy face if I was just judging the snow ice, so I guess I'll balance the flavor versus the service/sanitary condition and give it an ok.
