It's a surprise to dine at night in Chinese restaurant, especially those with wedding banquet offered... so we usually avoid it because the place could be crowded and noisy... But not this time... lucky us.. they have separated rooms for dinner customers... and sometime, they have very good offer too... like the hairy crab promotion, as well as the seasonal hot pot rice... Free starer was a simple cold dish, very much crunchy veggies, and we ate it all quickly...
We didn't go for that, as I have been allergic to shellfish and crab, and so, we went for the Grouper plus the Chestnut Pot... as the weather is getting cooler now..
Surprisingly that the speed of getting our dishes are quite fast, and within 15 mins, we are served with the Grouper.. which has been prepared in two styles.. Step Fried, and Steam... The good thing to go for Grouper is that, you don't usually have to spend much time on dealing with the fish bones, so that we can enjoy more meat and the fresh taste.. it was really good, not too salty, and the fish meats were quite sponge... You can see from the picture that each piece was quite big, but still very much crunchy ...
The Steaming part of the Grouper was more surprising, as we all will expect big grouper can't be steamed well, but this one, not following the traditionally way, but getting some pumpkin slices to steam together... so that you can feel a bit of sweet in the sauce, while when we took our first bite, surprisingly that it was not old and chewy... but quite tender...
The Chestnut Veggie Hot Pot was nice too, and don't underestimate this dish, very much filling, and I took more than half of it home... very rich in the taro taste... and with the chestnut and veggies, it's quite a nice mixture... thought I still prefer to have the chestnut to be boiled for another 15 mins, as when we put them in mouth, it's still hard in texture.. LOL...
The best part of the dinner is the nice Soup, and you can see that it's a really rich bowl, the daily choice is recommended by the manager, and we find it so warm and so great in stomach... But I have to say that the soup is a bit oily, and so, we also need some time to reduce the fat intake by slowing removing the surface oil...
Overall, we spent around 250 each for the dinner to enjoy a very nice seafood dinner... and I have to take away the soup and chestnut pot away... very good in value..
Forgot to say that, even the free dessert - Green Bean Soup, was quite tasty too, rich in the seaweed taste, and it's not too thick, and in good portion... perfect to slow down the night afterwards...
