Came here for a pre-Christmas lunch to meet up with an old friend. The restaurant is located towards the Peel Street end of Elgin Street away from the crowds. Although the place is fairly small with rather cramped tables, the interior provides a cozy Parisian feel. The lunch menu offers a $108 set and a $228 set. Starter
The starter was a salad with various greens and egg/tuna mix, which was like a mini version of niscoise salad. It was light and quite refreshing.
Soup
Our waiter told us the soup of the day was a cream of tomato soup, but when it arrived it turned out to be a pumpkin soup. Anyway it was fine with us and the soup was ok.
Main
We both chose the fish as the main. It was a large piece of fish fillet (can't remember
the fish name) which tasted fresh but I found the flesh a bit tough. The mashed potatoes and the ratatouille on the side were quite ordinary without much flavour.
Dessert and Tea/Coffee
Dessert was a nice little surprise - the mini cheesecake was creamy with a light chocolate flavour. It was just the right size to end a relatively big lunch. I didn't want caffeine so opted for a hot lemon honey, which accompanied well with the cheesse cake.
Compared to other restaurants in Soho, a 4 course lunch with tea/coffee for $108 is pretty good value. Hope they can improve on the food quality to attract more popularity!
