This is a hidden gem in Mui Wo. We came here to get some sandwiches for our hike and got high quality baguettes with delicious fillings.When you walk into the small bakery, it is as though you are walking into Aladdin's cave. They have a cabinet full of great cheeses at good prices. The bread is beautiful, freshly baked and smells amazing. They also have home made jams, tarts, doughnuts, quiches and cakes. It is quite marvellous really. We contented ourselves with a brie and avocado baguet

The bread is beautiful, freshly baked and smells amazing. They also have home made jams, tarts, doughnuts, quiches and cakes. It is quite marvellous really. We contented ourselves with a brie and avocado baguette and a parma ham and parmesan one. We also got some of their excellent walnut tarts.
The baguettes were toothy and fresh. They had great elasticity. The brie was tasty and creamy. It went very well with the avocado to make a buttery and rich mouthful. The parma ham and parmesan was a salty and delicious filling for the soft white bread. On the day we went, they did not have rocket or lettuce, but we forgave them, as the sandwiches were so good. They made them freshly, so it took about 10 minutes. We actually went for a walk and collected them a little later. The walnut tarts were fabulous. They were caramelly and crumbly and had a sweet, nutty flavour. Amazing.
Next time we hike, we will be arranging to hit Mui Wo on the way back, so we can stock up on jams and cheeses and get a good loaf of sourdough or rye. This is a great little local shop.
