I have wanted to visit this 'virtuous' place for a while and after spending time away in the States, we were craving Hong Kong comfort.

The restaurant is small, but clean and has rudimentary English menus.  The walls are white tile and the menu is written on them in Chinese with marker pens - very old school.  The owner is super friendly and helpful.  He made us feel very welcome and seemed gebuinely pleased to see us.  His English was excellent.

We opted for a couple of lai cha, some traditional fried rice and ho fen with beef and soy sauce.

The teas were good - not too much tanin, but strong regardless.  The ho fen dish was good.  I always used Cafe Mido as the benchmark for this dish, as theirs is so good.  This place came close, but didn't quite deliver one as good as Mido's.  However, had I never eaten Mido's ho fen, I would have said that this was excellent.

The real treasure was their fried rice.  It packed a lot of flavour and was not greasy in any way.  The pork and the shrimp were tasty and cooked well and it was basically my perfect fried rice.  We will definitely be returning for the rice alone!

The total was $120 for two teas and two large dishes.  A bargain in anyone's books.  Definitely worth a visit.
