Am very excited to see Cafe Siam right in Kennedy Town--love the one in Central and have been eating there for years and years, and this new branch holds up the high standard of heavily spiced deliciousness set by its Central branch.  No one does the Bok Tak (clear seafood soup) better than Cafe Siam, IMHO, and when I ordered it here it is as intensely sour and spicy as ever--brings tears to my eyes. The prawn was so huge in the tom kha goong that it reminded me of the alien queen out of Alien (but in a much, much more appetizing sort of way).  Highly recommend the famous tom yum goong fried rice, which feeds two and is soaked with tom yum goon soup, bursting with flavor.
For some reason this place is never very busy and you don't have to wait for a table--the ambience is great, the food is delicious and artistically presented, and unlike in many othe rrestaurants around this neighborhood, the tables are not on top of each other and you have plenty of room to stretch out. The price tag reflects the restaurant's Central origins, I think, but totally worth the extra few bucks when you feel like having incredibly nice Thai food in fancy, open dining environs.
