This is my first time having a congee based hotpot, and here I was wondering how does that even work? Wouldn’t the congee just burn? But uneducated me didn’t know that for the hotpot portion, they just add the congee liquid so that it soaks up all the deliciousness from all the hotpot ingredients. And then at the end they add the actual congee and it makes for a flavourful bowl.We got the seafood congee set which included the congee base, crab and fish, 5 different seafoods, and 8 hotpot ingred
We got the seafood congee set which included the congee base, crab and fish, 5 different seafoods, and 8 hotpot ingredients of your choice.
We first got some corn, pumpkin and taros that we added to the congee base first to make it sweeter.
Then came the seafood ingredients. They had a sheet that told us how long we should leave each seafood in for the perfect cook time.
Afterwards we got all our hotpot ingredients. This part is just like regular hotpot.
After you are done with the hotpot, the soup base should be really flavourful and delicious. It should have the sweetness of the seafood and also have soaked up all the flavours of the hotpot ingredients.
This is the part where you add the rice part of the congee and cook it for a little bit more. It will then turn into delicious congee!!
