I’ve been to the Wildfire at Stanley’s a few years ago. This one, being located in Causeway Bay wtc, is designed in a contemporary way, while that in Stanley’s leisure and looked a bit in a style that’s sort of ‘historic’ so as to blend in with the Murray House. This restaurant is contemporary and relaxing, and not to forget about the nice harbor view. It’s a really comfortable place to dine in. We were seated at a table next to the window and we get to enjoy the lovely view. Each table has a little candlelight. I loved the atmosphere of the place. After going through the menu several times, we decided to order. My friend waved at the waiters passing our table, but was ignored several times before one was kindly enough to come over to take our orders. That kind of screwed my flawless picture of the restaurant, but the food was good enough to make it all up. We ordered a salad, pizza, and a main.
House Salad I am never a fan of salads so I don’t think I know how to determine if it’s good. I ate a few croutons, pepperoni, and smoked duck breast slices. They all were flavorful, and the pepperoni was crispy.
Prawn and Scallop Pizza I’ve always adored their pizzas. Their pizzas are renowned for using large wood-stone pizza ovens to cook, and this indeed gave the pizza an authentic taste. The toppings of the pizza include prawns, scallops, bell peppers, olives, onions, tomato sauce, and mozzarella cheese. I was most impressive with the olives. The menu says it is kalamata olives. That explains the incredible flavor of them, and these were preserved in wine vinegar as there was a pretty strong wine taste from them. The pizza was great. I loved the flavor, loved the cheese, loved the rich tomato sauce. The prawns and scallops weren’t very special though. Not to forget about their pizza base, I loved the authentic base so much.
Chicken Kebab I’ve forgotten to take a picture before the kebab was being removed from the rack. The presentation of it was nice when served, such a pity that I’ve forgotten to take a picture. This dish was really nice. Everything on the kebab was tasty and well-seasoned with aromatic herbs such as paprika. The chicken meat was big but it’s very tender. The dish was served along with rice wrapped in a leaf. The rice was tasty, but I think the texture of it was not good enough, and it’s being stick together in chunks when eating. But the rice wasn’t the main character of the dish, so it doesn’t matter that much. The chicken kebab itself had left me a good impression already.
My friend ordered a cocktail as well. I didn’t try but I think he said it was quite good. It looked pretty delicate and nice.
In overall, the restaurant does leave me a pretty good impression and I like it here. The dining experience in the Wildfire here and that in Stanley was totally different. I like it here when I want a quiet, casual dinner with a friend. It’s a great option.
