On my days off, I love to walk around areas that I don't visit often. This time I went all the way to Luen Wo Hui in Fanling, walked past a European restaurant called Route 83 which is famous for their homemade pizza, pork knuckle and roasted pork ribs.Mozzarella & tomato salad $88 - topped with pesto sauce. Pork knuckle - unique recipe of Schweinshaxe. Such a huge knuckle. The meat had a good layer of fat under the crispy skin. Firm texture, finely marinated. Only $178 for this dish. Probably the cheapest in HK!
For the drinks, they offer Belgian trappist beer and local craft beer. Again, $48 for a bottle is incredibly cheap. I had Pauwel Kwak - mellow, solid and rich, and Delirium Christmas version - such a cute glass filled with malty aroma and zesty hints. Both have an alcohol content of over 8% and long finishing.
They have another branch in Tai Po which I guess is more accessible. All in all Route 83 offers great value for money which absolutely worths revisiting!
