In such a special occasion, we have ordered three bottles of wines to pair with food. Most of the wines in the wine list are from old world - France in particular. I believe even people don’t drink wine do know that vintage is very important to French wines but I’m so wrong because the staffs here obviously don’t have such knowledge. I can forgive their lack of knowledge in wines (ie not making complain to regulatory body of misrepresenting) but it is unacceptable for not dealing with clients’ complaint properly and showing “I don’t care” attitude.
Apart from the wine, the food was only so so. 1) Not all the oysters tasted fresh. 2) It was a surprise for the cheese platter which one of the cheese tasted like a shrimp paste. (Maybe some people like it very much) 3) Pork chop in blue cheese sauce didn’t have any hint of blue cheese at all which was very disappointing. Probably this was supposed to be a British dish and shouldn’t have ordered in a French restaurant but there was not much choice in the menu anyway. 4) Scallop and US Prime Ribeye were quite tender and juicy. 5) Deserts were quite large in portion but too sweet for me having a sweet tooth.
