In such a special occasion, we have ordered three bottles of wines to pair with food. Most of the wines in the wine list are from old world - France in particular. In such a special occasion, we have ordered three bottles of wines to pair with food. Most of the wines in the wine list are from old world - France in particular. I believe even people don’t drink wine do know that vintage is very important to French wines but I’m so wrong because the staffs here obviously don’t have such knowledge. We have ordered Chateau Senejac Haut Medoc 2009 and they served us the wine in 2011 without informing us. It was found out after having first sip because we found it disappointing and checked the bottle ourselves. We told them at once we wouldn’t want it if 2011 but the staff gave us no choice as it was opened. We took it unwillingly but asked for discount as the market price of 2011 is only 50% of 2009. Again the staff told us the price will stay the same given it is the inventory issue of running out of bottle 2009 (I don’t see the logic). Finally we tried not to argue but recommended them to do better next time by showing the bottle to clients before open. The response I got DRIVING ME NUTS- “This is not a hotel.” Of course I know this is not a hotel but I am forced to pay a wine close to hotel standard - with mark up >300%.
I can forgive their lack of knowledge in wines (ie not making complain to regulatory body of misrepresenting) but it is unacceptable for not dealing with clients’ complaint properly and showing “I don’t care” attitude.

Apart from the wine, the food was only so so. 1) Not all the oysters tasted fresh. 2) It was a surprise for the cheese platter which one of the cheese tasted like a shrimp paste. (Maybe some people like it very much) 3) Pork chop in blue cheese sauce didn’t have any hint of blue cheese at all which was very disappointing. Probably this was supposed to be a British dish and shouldn’t have ordered in a French restaurant but there was not much choice in the menu anyway. 4) Scallop and US Prime Ribeye were quite tender and juicy. 5) Deserts were quite large in portion but too sweet for me having a sweet tooth.
