I was looking for somewhere perfect for happy hour and decent to have a long sit to spend my evening with dear friends. Recalling my last visit at Belgos was few years ago and it was a pleasant experience, I recommended and decided to spend our dinner here. We ordered more sides to nibble instead of mains to pair with the Happy Hour drinks. We ordered calamari, belgo nachos, buffalo drumsticks, escargot and moules marinires (classic white wine mussels).Calamari was in gigantic shape! Thin batter

Calamari was in gigantic shape! Thin batter but huge squid. Freshly deep fried and well seasoned. Batter didn't fall apart after each bite. Tar tar sauce was well made with chopped pickles in for extra acidity for the savouriness.
Escargot was presented appealing. Black parmasen was dusted beneath the escargot while few mushroom caps were decorated. Created a scene of snails crawling on the soil. Well garnishing! Escargots were well cooked. Not chewy at all. Buttery and herby. Even purposely dusted with black parmasen, extra saltiness were given. A presentable tempting dish.
Belgos nachos were served vibrantly. Parsley, sour cream, tomato salsa and jalapeños gave the dish some brightness. Nachos were served hot that cheese were just melted. Toppings were well covered the tortilla chips that every bite could eat all types of toppings. Even the spiciness from jalapeños could be tasted clearly. Very satisfying. It will be more impressive if guacamole was also dolloped, felt like something missing.
Buffalo chicken drumsticks were again a dish gave a wow factor by its plating. Meat were half deboned while kept its bone for plating. Definitely gave some height and an unique shape. Drumsticks were deep fried perfectly. Crunchy batter with juicy meat. Batter was well seasoned with a hint of spice. Buffalo sauce was thoughtfully serving on a side. (Not everybody loves a wet heavy coated buffalo wings). Buffalo sauce definitely gave a kick to the dish. Good job!
Moules Marinires was served after all the sides. Mussels were comparably on a smaller size than U expected. Mussels were alright, not overcooked but not as flavourful. Sauce was quite runny, preferably a thicker version. Bread and fries were serving as sides. Bread was soft and slight toasted. Perfect to dip with the sauce but the sauce itself wasn't as flavorous as it should be. Fries were well made. Crispy and tasty. Lightly salted. Even eating on its own was already a perfect nibble. Whole dish went cold quickly which leading to a oily split sauce. Definitely eat it right after serve!
Whole night was enjoyable. Taking time to catch up while enjoying goodness slowly! The catchy pop music playing at the background lifted the atmosphere in the restaurant and good that it wasn't too loud that difficult to hear each other's saying. Nice and cool place as usual.
