Took a chance and went to Shake Shack to get my burger cravings tonight. The place was surprisingly busy at 9pm, a good sign of sustainability. It tasted well as the ingredients did not overwhelm each other and the cherry pepper gave it a little spicyness.
You can get the cheese sauce for the Cheese fries ($36) on top or served on the side. I chose the former. The fries are standard crinkle cut fries, taste fine but nothing to write home about.
Shack-made lemonade ($32 for a large) was nice and hits the spot. Reminds me a bit of the lemonade that u typically drink at a US home. But the lid wasn’t snapped shut properly so some of it ended up on the table.
$130 for a fast food meal is steep, but then based on the crowd on this late weeknight many people are willing to pay for this piece of Americana.
