We decided to explore Jordan area for dinner. The sign for this restaurant is huge and we realise that Choi Lan is the owner. We debated whether to go to the vegetarian restaurant across the road but curiosity for this restaurant was greater.The place has basic decor and the staff were quite friendly. We decided to explore Jordan area for dinner. The sign for this restaurant is huge and we realise that Choi Lan is the owner. We debated whether to go to the vegetarian restaurant across the road but curiosity for this restaurant was greater.

The place has basic decor and the staff were quite friendly.

Fried razor blade clams with onions and peppers were full of onions and peppers. The clams fell out of their shells and there weren't enough of them.


Minced pork steamed with salty fish paste was tasty and since the fish was boneless and a paste, it was easy to spread around the cake. But the cake was very thin and so the texture not quite right.


Vermicelli with satay beef in casserole was nice as they used thick Korean type vermicelli. Even though it was a bit oily, the beef was smooth and tasty.


Bean sprouts with sliced fish cakes was really nice. The sprouts had beans on them which were fresh tasting and tender rather than tough and old. The fish cake slices were fried nicely and had a nice mandarin peel smell.


Braised pigeon in special sauce was not braised for long enough, so the sauce didn't really go into the meat. The pigeon was big and so there was a lot of meat on the pieces.

The best surprise had to be the plain congee that we ordered to go with the food. This had a full bean curd sheet flavour and was smooth and filling. Just the right consistency. Next time we will try their other types of congee.
