Arrived early around 6pm to avoid the crowd and queuing. Asked for a 4 person table as the restaurant was still quite empty, request was rejected with no reason and sat at a small 2 person table. Which is fine normally but, they weren't fully booked and I was planning to order a lot of food to cure my hungry stomach.Highlight of the dining experience was the lemon juice spray. Played with it for a minute and realised it was hastle and doesn't really work. Prefer the old fashioned lemon slices. T
Ordered various types of skewers and it all arrived within 10minutes. That is very Efficient! Too efficient that there were no space to place my food. Requested them to bring out the food slowly as there were no space and there's no need to rush. But, food still came rushing out and they were playing jigsaw puzzle with the dishes on my table. Meanwhile, there were still 4ppl tables available.
Back to the skewers, the efficiency has made me suspect food was pre-made and were simply re-heated on the grill. At least it tasted pre-made. Ox tongue, pork belly, squid tentacles were all dried up. And it tasted off, as in not fresh and smelly. The capelin fishes were thin and meagre, again, tasted slighlty off. Bottom line, food quality were not fresh, over cooked and seasoned like a street hawker food stalls in china. I would not consider this as Japanese food and for the price, there are much better alternatives out there. I did over-order a bit so, average spending per person should be around $300 instead of $350.
