Going down the stairs, staff led us down a hall way where we saw a meat window that looked like a butcher shop.

The place filled up very quickly but we were still able to get a table for walk ins. It was very big in size with a lot o space. Not cramped at all. The whole place looked like you were sitting out on a street. It was pretty well decorated.

There were private rooms for big groups as well.

Menu is in Chinese with partial English. Basically the soup and drink choices are in Chinese.

But the hot pot items are in English and Chinese. We noticed this place doesn't provide half portions unlike some places we've been to. This makes it difficult for two people to hot pot. I guess this place is better equipped for bigger groups.

The sauce tray has a charge of $15 per person. They have all the usual along with something called fried garlic oil.

You are also provided two cold appetizers at $20 per dish. You are not asked this and immediately provided to you. These were sour and spicy cucumber (which were super spicy and not too sour at all) and sesame oil green beans.

We ordered a jug of Sugar Cane water ($38). This was pretty good. Not too sweet at all. Very cold and refreshing. We later added a beer when we were finished with this jug. But just to let you know, it does give you several glasses.

Flamed Drunken Clams with Beef and Winter Melon broth ($138). We notice a lot of the hot pot soups had medicinal ingredients. Boyfriend wasn't too fond of that so we settled for this one. When it was brought over, you could really smell the smell of Shaoxin wine. Along with clams, we also saw chunks of beef, scallions and winter melon.

The staff then came over and lit the wine with a flame and stir fried it until they were cooked.

Then the broth was poured in and simmered away. The soup was light yet flavorful. The clams were delicious and very fresh. The beef was moist and tender.

Cold Honeycomb Tofu ($38). These were pretty frozen when they took these out so we waited a while before we threw them in.  These were pretty good. Spongy and soaked up the soup well.

Signature Wubao Balls ($82). A selection of their balls that included beef, pork, squid, shrimp and dace fish. The balls were fresh and firm. The favorite was for me was definitely the squid.

Seaweed Fried Yuba ($52). We often order this or the fried fish skins. But we noticed this was different as they added seaweed in between. To me, I think the seaweed became chewy after dipping it in the hot pot. I wasn't a big fan as I love my seaweed crunchy so it defeated the purpose. Boyfriend like it enough and same with a lot of other people I noticed. I guess it's only me.

Emperor Vegetables ($45). As we can't order half portions and boyfriend doesn't eat vegetables, this was all for me. And it was a lot! They were great though. Very fresh and clean with a very strong taste that can only be found in this type of vegetable.

Fresh Beef ($88). Originally, we wanted another beef but they forgot to put in the order. When we asked about it, they said it had already run out. So, we chose this instead. We weren't expecting the raw egg yolk on top. Mixing it up, the beef felt more slimy and smooth. But I guess it helped make the beef even more moist and tender. There was a strong beef taste.

Deep Fried Chicken Knuckles with Spicy Pepper Salt ($68). This was a needed beer moment. After popping open a bottle of beer, we shared this as well. This was amazingly good. Spicy and salty. Deep fried so well, it crunched. And yes .. it helped with drinking lots of beer.

Food was fairly good and fresh. The design of the restaurant was excellent in recreating an atmosphere of eating out on the street. Though staff missed an order, they did quickly follow up on it. Would be back with a bigger group because definitely not easy for smaller ones.
