if you are looking to order food at this branch, i would advise against that... on this wet saturday late morn, hub and i decided to grab some coffee and witnessed an appalling hygiene standard to how a bagel smoked salmon is made. the female staff was making a sandwich for herself first, using bare hands without washing them first (taking out lunchmeat, fixings and whatnot using her fingers, ungloved) that's fine since the sandwich was for her own consumption. however she started dipping that
on this wet saturday late morn, hub and i decided to grab some coffee and witnessed an appalling hygiene standard to how a bagel smoked salmon is made.
the female staff was making a sandwich for herself first, using bare hands without washing them first (taking out lunchmeat, fixings and whatnot using her fingers, ungloved) that's fine since the sandwich was for her own consumption. however she started dipping that same pair of hands into a bag of bagel to toast for a customer...
then, she proceeded to remove her face mask with that same pair of hands to tuck into her sandwich. without washing. once bagel's toasted, that same pair of hands starting putting the sandwich together for the customer. kudos that she used a pair of tongs to grab slices of the smoked salmon alas(!), not the rest of the stuff that went into that delicious looking sandwich. salad leaves, using bare hands and other fixings. she then wrapped it up and passed to the unknowing customer.
and went on, finishing her sandwich and during the progress, touching everything else. this is a store with 3 other staff, if she needs to eat, it is only fair the next staff makes the sandwich.
not sure that bagel is worth that $62 but what is the price of hygiene considering the environment we are in now?
i love your tea but this is food for thought if it is worth coming back to this branch anymore.
