It’s been a while since I last went to Jean May! Stuff that I stuck to ordering were the beef tartare ($188), chicken liver parfait ($98) and the madeleines though prices went up. Stuff that was new for me this time round included the mussel pasta made inhouse, pork cheek croquettes, boeuf beef. We were all pleasantly surprised with the pasta, first from the sheer size of the dish, and second from the savory taste that makes you want to keep going. I was worried we wouldn’t finish it, but the fresh mussel sauce and the al dente strozzapreti made it an easy feat. For the meat dishes, croquettes were nicely fried and the beef was tender but nothing that would blow you away. If it wasn’t for the long wait, I would rock by for food all the time.
