Boyfriend and I were in Sheung Wan and discovered this new shop called O'Taste. It apparently has another branch in Tsim Sha Tsui! The shop is in a large space and it was simply designed. What it served was casual Korean food for a quick bite.Geared for take away with tables so you can dine in as well, this was like Pret a Manger but Korean styleThe menu is in English, Korean and Chinese. But as it was new, they had a soft opening menu when I was there.
Beef Bulgogi Bibimbap ($58). I ordered this. A decent size portion. The food was made to order so there is a bit of a wait. The rice was warm and mixed well with the ingredients. The beef was savory. There was a lot of crisp vegetables!
It also came with a bowl of basic Korean miso soup. It was a bit more salty than I was used to.
Spicy Pork Bimbimbap ($58). Boyfriend ordered this. The pork was pretty spicy but it was not so spicy I couldn't handle it. Meat was moist and tender.
Spicy Octopus ($10). They had several small portioned sides for $10 each. Boyfriend chose this. Not too spicy. The octopus was really good. Firm and gave a nice bite when chewed on. And for $10 each, a cheap enough side to add without breaking the bank.
Original Kimbap ($45). I love kimbap! Their original is basically Spam with pickled vegetables and egg. A generous portion and I ended up taking the rest home as we couldn't finish it. Portions were that generous! The combination of flavors were good. The rice was still soft.
A great casual place that serves quick Korean food. In Sheung Wan/Central area, this is a very welcome addition. I'll be back.
