I first came across this place a few months back, tried to walk in but it was completely full. this time I called to book a table 2 weeks in advance but when I showed up the reservation wasn't recorded. Luckily I showed up early so there was ONE last table left for us. The owner was apologetic about the error and was very attentive.The 5 of us ordered the Sichuan style fish, fried chili and chicken pieces (ratio of chili is 10:1), black fugus, fish skin, Dan Dan noodles, spicy pork, both types
The 5 of us ordered the Sichuan style fish, fried chili and chicken pieces (ratio of chili is 10:1), black fugus, fish skin, Dan Dan noodles, spicy pork, both types of dumpling…and at the end added another pot of fish because it was so good!
At the bottle of the spicy fish, there were glass noodles and veggies to help fill the big bowl. Spicy pork was delicious, not too fatty. Dan Dan noodles and the spicy dumplings weren't flavored enough. The dumpling themselves were quite good but the soup it was sitting in did not add anything to the dish. The fried chicken is one of my favourite Sichuan dish, it's crispy and full of flavor! If you don't like spitting pieces of bones out, you might not like this.
Overall the food wasn't spicy enough for me but the lady said the type of chili they use is slightly mild so you would still be able to taste the food.
As we were leaving, the lady apologized again for the booking and gave a card so I can book through her directly next time. We stuffed our bellies with chili and beer at the cost of only $190hkd…I'm definitely going back!
