Most Indian cuisine restaurants I've been to in Hong Kong are very casual in decor so I was pleasantly surprised with the modern and classy environment at Jashan located in the heart of Central. For a limited time only until the end of August, Jashan has launched a Citrus Celebration Summer Menu - designed to cool off diners by incorporating lemon's zesty and citrus flavors into their dishes. I was served with palate cleansers first which consisted of a corn soup. It was hot to drink with sweet and spicy flavors which I felt was really soothing.

Ginger Lemon Cooler ($78) - I first tried a drink from the summer menu which was a Ginger Lemon Cooler with ginger homemade syrup and fresh lime juice topped with club soda. It actually had real slices of ginger on top and it tasted pretty refreshing from the tangy flavors. The ginger flavors wasn't as spicy and strong as I thought it would be though.

Kadak Jhinga ($95) - started off with some prawn fritters with mint yogurt sauce. The prawns were deep fried with a hard crunchy shell which was great to eat at first but felt oily after the first one. Perhaps it's just that I'm not a fan of deep fried dishes.

Lime and Coconut Chicken Kebab ($128) - this appetizer from the summer menu was awesome though! The chicken was carefully marinated for twelve hours and infused with lemon leaf and grated lemon zest while topped with coconut powder. Very tender and juicy to eat!

Balchao Prawn with Cinnamon and Garlic ($158) - tried another prawn dish with fresh prawns tossed with garlic and tomato chili sauce. The shrimp was a bit overcooked but the sauce was very flavorful and redeemed the dish.

Rogan Josh Kashmiri Lamb Curry ($135) - I love lamb curry and this did not disappoint! Using lamb delicacy from Kashmiri and aromatized with special herbs, the lamb was tasty with gamey flavors. The curry wasn't spicy at all which is perfect for those who like milder flavors.

Malabari Mahi Tikka Masala ($148) - from the summer menu - Mackerel fish marinated with south Indian spices. The curry was perfect for eating with naan while the fish was soft and flaky - just wished the pieces were a big bigger.

Garlic Naan ($28) - garlic naan is my favorite and it was aromatic here but a bit drier than I'd like.

Cheese Naan ($28) - I could taste the cheese in the cheese naan here unlike other cheese naans I've had elsewhere. It was slightly salty with a chewy texture.

Homemade Saffron Kulfi ($58) - even though I was stuffed, I still went for dessert and I was glad that I did - the kulfi was really good here! The presentation was gorgeous while the textures and flavors were really well balanced. I'm usually not a fan of Indian desserts as they tend to be too sweet but I'm a fan of the kulfi here.
