Today was my first and last visit to Handi, supposedly the best Northern Indian restaurant in Hong Kong, according to their own advertising. Admittedly Indians are not exactly known for modesty, but seriously, this claim to have the best Northern Indian food in Hong Kong is beyond shameless, as are the prices, given the shabby 'village house' set up and the ridiculously small quantities served. I mean, the least you can expect in that kind of 'rustic' set up is value for money, not 'nouvelle cui

Admittedly Indians are not exactly known for modesty, but seriously, this claim to have the best Northern Indian food in Hong Kong is beyond shameless, as are the prices, given the shabby 'village house' set up and the ridiculously small quantities served. I mean, the least you can expect in that kind of 'rustic' set up is value for money, not 'nouvelle cuisine' kind of rip off quantities/pricing. The biggest disappointment however was the flavour, or lack thereoff. Indian food is supposed to be rich in flavour. All I could taste today was 'Instant Indian', the kind of taste you would expect from an Indian undergraduate student cooking together in his little rented rooftop room.
