Monster Sushi, a chain of popular sushi restaurants that are along the same lines as Sen-Ryo and Itamae, are well known for doing more "creative" sushi as opposed to the normal square of rice with a raw slice of salmon on top.A new branch has opened in Causeway Bay's Lee Theater. Layout is very big and spacious. There is plenty of seating space. In the past there used to be a rotating sushi bar but it seems the new branches have phased that out. So what we get now is an open sushi bar at one end of the restaurant and regular dining space throughout.
Menu is in English and Chinese with photos. You order by writing down the quantity on categorized slips of paper found at each table. They also have a daily fresh catch of the day that you can order into sashimi
Fatty Tuna Sushi ($36). This was one piece and I generally love ordering some form of toro. This was fairly oily and simply melted in my mouth. Loved it. Sea Urchin and Fatty Tuna Maki ($42). From the photos, we saw there was no rice and yes....there really is no rice. It's just mashed fatty tuna, wrapped in nori and topped with sea urchin. All this placed on a bed of ice which made this entire thing REALLY REALLY cold. Sea urchin was fresh and yeah...I just love fatty tuna. Stuffed Chicken Wings with Dumpling ($45). I liked this. The chicken wings were stuffed with the meat usually found in gyzoa. It reminded me of the chicken skin gyzoa I had in Nagoya which is possibly the most unhealthiest thing one could ever put in one's mouth but OH SO GOOD. This is the exact same feeling.
