Isaac Toast is originally from South Korea. Popular take away sandwich shop that seemed to have garnered a lot of attention for it's buttery toasted bread sandwiched with melty cheese and ham. Finally, after a few pop up events in Hong Kong, they have opened a permanent shop in Hong Kong. Shatin's New Town Plaza to be correct. When it first opened, it was so popular, there was a long queue. But now that it has opened for a while, there was no line but it was still plenty busy. The shop is very small with not much seating. You can order at the counter or just order by their touch screen ordering system.
Menu is in English, Korean and Chinese. There is no 10% service charge. They have a variety of sandwiches, snacks and drinks.
I decided on their ham special ($34) and an applemango juice ($34). The sandwich was wow...REALLY GOOD! The thickly sliced white bread was toasted and buttery. The ham was warm and there was some crunchy lettuce in it. The egg had sweet corn in it and added another sweet flavor profile. There was a tangy sauce, perhaps mayo? The only thing I could complain about was the cheese. It wasn't a lot and it wasn't very melty. But other than that, pretty good. The applemango juice was also really good. Sweet with the taste of mango. It was also thick and icy. A great smoothie like texture. And for this price, this is better than a lot of the bubble tea places around that offer smoothie type drinks.
I have never had the original one in Korea so can't compare. But everything was really good. For a price that is not expensive as well. Even boyfriend was pleasantly surprised as he had extremely low expectations. Even he said it was really good and he'd come back especially for the drink. And yeah .. I agree. If only it wasn't so far from where I live otherwise I'd be a regular.
