I don't know why but there is ALWAYS A LINE in front of this restaurant. Today, my family and I would like to give it a try. After a wait of 15 minutes (much shorter than most of the days) we were finally offered a seat. With such small store, it is almost inevitable to share table with random people - which we didn't mind as long as the food is good.So we ordered this Nagoya styled Taiwanese spicy ramen. So we ordered this Nagoya styled Taiwanese spicy ramen. The waiter warned us repeatedly that the ramen could be hot - but there is nothing we could do about it as you don't get to choose the level of spiciness. Anyway, we ordered it anyway.
Was it spicy? Not so much. Was it tasty not so much either. I would say (honestly) it tastes like the Shanghai darm darm noodles but the ramen version. It tastes slightly sweeter (like any Japanese food) but not so much of the original blend of flavours that you would expect from the Shanghai noodles. The ramen tasted slightly bland (even with the spiciness). There wasn't much of layers in its taste. So... unless we had a sudden ramen urge, I don't think we will line up for it ever again.
