Came here for dimsum. This is a very HK restaurant, meaning the atmosphere is very local. Came in and had to walk to a table of my own choosing because no1 greeted me. But one waiter did manage to welcome me nicely when he saw us despite carrying huge plates of food on his shoulder...Dimsum: overall pretty average. Had very basics: Shrimp dumplings (Har Gow); Egg yolk buns; Chicken feet; Shrimp in rice roll; and just Congee with pork and thousand year old egg. Liked the buns and chicke
Dimsum: overall pretty average. Had very basics: Shrimp dumplings (Har Gow); Egg yolk buns; Chicken feet; Shrimp in rice roll; and just Congee with pork and thousand year old egg. Liked the buns and chicken feet more, the former having the right consistency of egg yolk (supposed to be slightly drippy) and chicken feet was very well marinated with flavor and very juicy with peanuts on the bottom. The shrimp in rice roll had a thicker rice skin than I'd prefer, however still silky. Soy sauce that came with was a tad oiler than and diluted than I'm used to. Congee seemed to be double/triple boiled, a little too much salt for my taste, but nonetheless decent. Shrimp dumplings were nothing outstanding.
Service: Can be improved. There seemed to be lots of staff, but most are just joking around or hanging out with old customers (which can be a cozy thing, but should not sacrifice service to all). Paying the bill - I just went to the counter myself. Overall, very local chatty atmosphere. The dimsum menu is in Chinese only, so good luck with that.
Sizing it up: Just mediocre again. But it was fairly priced, turned out to be $118 for 5 dishes. No windows and pretty low ceilings so nothing fancy. Would rather try a different place, food isn't good enough to warrant a second visit.
