Been wanting to try out Kona for the longest time but they’re always fully booked due to popularity! This modern Kappo-style restaurant is just nicely tucked away in Tai Hang. — Another signature! Loved the subtle smoky flavours of the skewer and the slightly crunchy texture of the neck meat itself.
Pic 3️⃣: Gyu Tongue / scallions, mustard miso / 牛舌 配 香蔥芥末味噌- $58 hkd 🐮
— Ox tongue was amazing, loved these thick, juicy cuts which were so tender. The seasoning on this was also on point, and I loved the mustard miso which only had a faint mustard flavour to it, perfect for non-mustard fans like myself!

— Super crunchy and addicting starter, loved the slightly chewy texture at the bottom. Could do with a bit more seasoning.
Pic 5️⃣: Kurobuta Pork and Kimchi / cold udon, spicy vinegar / 黑豚泡菜冷稻庭烏 微辛油醋汁- $128 hkd 🍜
— Really refreshing dish and I really recommend this! The acidity from the spicy vinegar goes really well with the fatty Kurobuta pork, and the udon really soaked up all the flavours in the sauce.
Pic 6️⃣: Kona Wings / debonded, Japanese salt & pepper / Kona 手羽先 - $88 hkd 🍗
— Easy to eat, no fuss. Seasoning was good.
Pic 7️⃣: Beef Rib / potato, carrot 薯仔煮牛肋肉🥕🐄
— Very homey-dish, the beef rib was braised until tender and really soaked up all the goodness of the sauce. Slightly sweet for me but still pretty good.
Pic 8️⃣: Shishitou Pepper / crispy soy / 日本青椒仔 配 醬油脆脆 - $42 hkd 🫑
