A restaurant I must come back because I was visiting when I was not in my best condition. Even I was a bit sick, food was absolutely amazing and delicate to highlight. You can imagine how it will be when I am alright. We ordered their appetiser of anju kimchi, braised lotus root and pickled soybean sprouts; heirloom tomato, kimchi and fresh burrata; beoseot gangjeong and prawn tteokbokki. The braised lotus root from the anju kimchi was on a sweet sticky side. Even sauce was sweet and thick, lotus was crunch. Love how thin slice they were. Soybean sprout was marinated heavily on sesame oil which was my preference. Again crunchy and love how it was served in chill with a hint of spiciness. Anju kimchi kept its authentic flavour. Well balanced of tanginess and spiciness. Love how the kimchi still kept its freshness and moisture from the vegetables.
Heirloom tomato kimchi burrata was the highlight of tonight. Friendly staff highly recommended it as their source of burrata was guaranteed. In fact, it was creamy that melted in your mouth. Smooth that paired well with the intense spicy kimchi. Staff suggested to top everything on slice of crispy seaweed. Despite it was a huge bite, whole combination was spot on! Savoury oceanic flavour from the seaweed surprisingly paired so well with the sweet heirloom tomatoes. The explosion of juice mixing with the spiciness of kimchi while immediately lightened up by the smooth burrata. It was absolutely delicious! Love it and would like to order it every time.
Beoseot gangjeong was a crispy fried mushroom dish. Mushroom pieces was well coated with a crunchy savoury batter. Similar batter of the traditional korean deep fried chicken. After deep frying the mushrooms, it was coated with a layer of korean spicy sauce. Another kick of tonight but very satiated. Perfect nibbles for happy hour.
Prawn tteokbokki was another wowing dish just by the size of the three jumbo prawns. Prawns were well cooked. Appreciate they served clean prawns while they made it easily de-shelling with knife and fork. Prawns absorbed all the secret flavour while brought a hint of shrimp-y taste. Rice cake was in round shape. A thick side but chewy. Not heavy at all. Perfect portion to share between 2 or 3.
We also tried their recommended dessert, oatmeal panna cotta. It was a delicate dish. It did look similar to the burrata salad just had but when looking carefully, you could tell the difference by its sweet elements. Panna cotta was silky smooth. A hint oatmeal taste. Light and smoothing dessert. Dried persimmons were moisturised while serving but not overly sweet or chewy! In addition with the cereal for the crispiness, absolutely spot on! Well done chef!
Lastly, their yuzu mojito was a very refreshing tangy drink that perfect to clear your palate after every dish. In spite of half outdoor seatings led to slight warm in the indoor seats, it was a cure for the warmth.
Overall, you could tell the menu was thoughtfully designed with gourmet Korean food mix and match. Food combo were all well balanced and honestly would love to visit to try out more. Such a shame I wasn't feeling well that couldn't enjoy the most! But this leads to another chance visiting.
Well done!
