I wanted to choose from the ala carte menu then the girl suggested that they have a chef's choice where you basically pay per head. I didn't want to for fear of not knowing what to expect (since we won't know what dishes will be served in contrast to ordering what you really wanted to have). On the otherhand, my husband was more of an idealist and thought it would be heaven to just go with the flow. I really wanted to have a lamb dish so when we confirmed what meat can be served for the 250hkd/head package, the girl said there would be BEEF, CHICKEN, and LAMB. Obviously, your thoughts would have run wild already of the possibility of dishes they can serve (and because most of the photos un the menu did show these decent meat food). Eventually, I agreed to try this option.

Don't get me wrong, the overall quality of the meals being served were great (the best were the fresh salad and the chicken), except for the soggy and oily potato fries with eggplant. My only issue is we were given high hopes to be served an authentic Turkish beef and lamb dish, because that's why we exactly came for, to experience authentic Turkish delights (ironic its even their restaurant's name). Instead, what came out as a beef meal was beef pepperoni on top of a pizza; and the lamb meal? A lamb doner (kebab).

I mean seriously, it claims to be a private kitchen, serving authentic cuisine. In this case, Turkish cuisine. If we were craving for some pizza and lamb kebab, We would have just gone straight to Istanbul or Ebeneezer's. Such a fail. I mean, we were completely lead on. I wonder if the Turkish owner himself was around, if things like this would happen. We didn't ask for a 7 course meal, (it could have been strictly 1 salad, 1 entree, 2 mains, 1 dessert, easy as that) what we wanted was an authentic Turkish experience (because that's what they claimed to be).

To be honest, we were basically served snack food (oily and saggy fries, pizza and kebab), not dinner food. They have an afternoon tea set meal as well so I'm sure they serve the same thing for that set.

The funny thing is, its not even a real restaurant establishment for them to charge their menu like a premium and to apply a service charge. And they only accept reservations, no walk-ins, so that means no stress. There's really no reason not to up the experience of each customer.

They were lucky we didn't complain on the spot. But to be honest, the lady owner didn't even check with us how was our food experience (which you kind of expected if they were gonna serve you chef's choice food)!

For that, it already gives you the impression that they can't be bothered for their customers to come back the second time.
