Chow time!!Lobster Bar is a seafood haven! Securely enveloped inside the Shangri-La Hotel, the Lobster Bar serves as a spacious, comfortable, and swanky bar and restaurant along with a live band in tow. Lobster Bar is a seafood haven! Securely enveloped inside the Shangri-La Hotel, the Lobster Bar serves as a spacious, comfortable, and swanky bar and restaurant along with a live band in tow. The restaurant has classic and modern English decorations- perfect for business meetings, big party groups and even romantic dining.
We started off with an assortment of warm bread. I actually stayed away from these tonight, I didn’t want to be tempted so I took a quick snap for you reader and then the waiters were kind enough to take them away! They looked mighty good though.
Mussels with white wine sauce- As a starter- it was HUGE. But don’t let the size trick you. Mussels were all encased in their shell. The white wine sauce was definitely heavy on the white wine. Overall, it was just alright for me.
Lobster Bisque- If your trying to stay away from the alcohol….perhaps think about ordering something else! The chef pours an entire bottle of brandy rather than the normal table spoon! YIKES. Overall, it was a pretty good combination for me though ;) It was chock full of rich plump pieces of lobster! I preferred this bisque over other restaurants since it was less creamy…definitely warmed me up for my main course.
Lobster Thermidor- consisted of a creamy blend of lobster meat combined in plenty of hot butter, egg yolk, creme friache, mustard, cognac and finally topped off with bits of finely diced carrots, celery and onion. Finally baked in the oven coated with a crispy layer of golden brown parmesan cheese. The thermidor was delicious but sooooooo cheesy! It was a creamy, heavy, and monstrous sight yet delight. It’s an indulgence that’s for sure. Every forkful was a melty, juicy, yummy sinful bite. Oh my. Not for the faint of heart.
Grilled sirloin steak with side of French fries (not pictured), mustard and bearnaise sauce- The steak was nicely grilled but wasn’t nearly as juicy or tender as I was hoping for, but overall it was pretty good.It’s worth going to the Lobster Bar, if your a fan of seafood. Lobster Thermidor is definitely one thing I’ve never quite had anywhere else. But make sure you stick to the seafood- lobster! Have a great THANKSGIVING!!! <3 Then, it’s officially…CHRISTMAS SEASON!!! OH YEAH
