Everyone knows that Lockhurt road and Jeffe road in Causeway Bay is another food heaven. My friend recommended be to come to this newly opened Sichuan restaurant.Their menu is quite straight forward with only 2 pages. Sliced boiled pork with garlic sauce ($98)

The presentation looked different from what I know this dish would be. The restaurant didn't use the typical red chili oil, instead, they were using speicial housemade rapeseed oil, peanut sauce and garlic paste mix.

The flavourful sauce was covering thinly sliced boiled pork which has a crunchy edge on the fat part, wrapping around another thinly sliced fresh crispy cucumber.

It tasted fresh and rich in garlic flavour. It won't be too spicy like some other places. You could still taste the pork and cucumber. Everything was just so nicely complementing each other.

The duck was smoked for long hours until it was dry-soft texture. The whole duck was smoked all the way through that the bone was almost falling apart. I have to be honest with you that I have eaten a lot of bone from this dish. Calcium! Calcium!

The smokey savoriness was really mouth watering and it  more and more different taste would appear when we kept chew it. It was such a great dish to go down wiht a bottle of Ching Tao beer!

Steamed pork belly with rice flour ($100)

This dish is believed to be one of the home-cooking comfort food from Sichuan. Everyone home in Sichuan should know how to do it, and they all have their own secret recipe.

There are beef, pork, guts, and spare ribs for you to choose and we have picked pork belly. The meat was covered with seasoned rice flour to smear on each slice of pork first, then steam slowly. Serving on a bed of peeled peas from fresh snap peas. 

This dish would make your tongue numb! Though 80% of this dish was pork fat but you won't feel like too fatty because the flour absorbed fat. While steaming, most of the fat oil was cooked off. We were told that this dish was really good with a bowl of hot steamed rice but we were too full to have any more rice at this stated stage, maybe next time!

p.s. there are tooth paste and tooth brushes available for customers to use after a Sichuan meal. How thoughtful is that!
