I really really like Shanghai food, so I'm always up for it! This time, I went with my sister and her buddy because it was time to treat these two hard workers. Environment & Hygiene:The style of The Dinning Room is similar to a western bistro. We were seated at a big square table, along with 3 other parties. Although we had to share a table,I still felt that we had quite a bit privacy and it wasn't awkward at all; it was very spacious. Besides my dirty cup, hygiene was alright. Taste & V

Although we had to share a table,I still felt that we had quite a bit privacy and it wasn't awkward at all; it was very spacious. Besides my dirty cup, hygiene was alright.
Taste & Value:As usual, we wanted to try so much, so we ordered quite a bit. Your order by checking the sheet. There is a $6 tea fee per head.
This is what we got:1. Cold platter with 4 items ($68)
a) cold meat- soso
b) wood ear- the sauce was weird and tasted like mustard.
c) pork ribs- they were tiny dry pieces of meat that didn't taste too good
d) tofu with wood ear- okay, but not as good as other places
In general, everything was on the sour side.
2. Jelly Fish with Cucumbers ($58) just okay again, the taste was a bit weird and sour
3. Pan-fried pork buns ($38 for 4) this dish was one of the better dishes of the night. I liked that they weren't too greasy, but the portion of the juicy filling inside the bun was quite small, so it was like eating a pan fried bun.
4. Xiao long Bao ($38 for 5) an order came with 5 ! The outer layer was thin, and the meat was juicy, so it was good!
5. Shrimp Wonton in Sesame Sauce ($38 for 6) we actually ordered the wrong onehaha because my sister likes the spicy one. The sesame sauce was very rich and delicious and the shrimp filling inside was tasty
6. Dan Dan mein with Chicken ($48) the chicken was quite fatty and flavourless, and the noodles were quite spicy and didn't have the usual sesame/peanut paste in it
7. Green onion Cake ($38) this cake had meat and green onions inside. The outside was very crunchy and the filling was yummy
Service: Service was pretty good in general. Most were promt to our requests.
Final Verdict:
There is always a long queue, but it shows that long queues don't mean anything sometimes, as I was quite disappointed in the taste although the pricing was very reasonable.
