I was randomly searching for cafes or restaurants which allowed to sit long for this Saturday friends reunion. Recalling someone recommended Mini Friday where serving economical variety food with comfortable seats. I booked it via open rice with a promotion on lunch set. Restaurant was pretty empty that allowed us to pick wherever seats we wanted. Menu covered different kind of food such as breakfast, rolls, burgers, salad, pasta, desserts etc. We made our order via QR code requesting a pepperon
Restaurant was pretty empty that allowed us to pick wherever seats we wanted. Menu covered different kind of food such as breakfast, rolls, burgers, salad, pasta, desserts etc.
We made our order via QR code requesting a pepperoni parma ham pizza, roasted half chicken and laksa spaghetti with fan scallop. Additionally having a baked cauliflower with cheese as appetiser.
Pepperoni parma ham pizza came first. It was a crispy thin crust type. Freshly made. Crispy crust. Appreciated topping with arugula for some bitterness and peppery, while it would be nicer if more generous on it. Parma ham was on a lean side giving some chew and pepperoni added a strong meaty saltiness. Not bad.
Baked cauliflower was boiling hot. Love the top burnt cheese marks which gave extra charred flavour. Cauliflower and broccoli were served. Kept its crunch while absorbed so much of the creaminess. A heavy one but delicious. The only flaw was that sauce was very watery. Only those covered on the cauliflowers were thickened, bottom ones were personally too wet.
Roasted half chicken was served with green beans and mashed potato. First glimpse definitely was their split gravy. The two layers split gravy was visually seen and becoming more obvious when time passed. Anyway, chicken was moist and herbed. Sauce was kind of unnecessary or I may ask for omitting next time. Green beans were crunchy and sweet. Mashed was smooth but not my favourite. We couldn't finish it at last.
Laksa spaghetti was unexpectedly the most delicious dish this afternoon. It was in a comparably big portion. We all three refilled two times we still haven't finished it. Scallop was surprisingly big. Love the laksa sauce that not just spicy, it's a combination of south east asian spice mix with sweet juicy mushrooms and zucchinis. Spaghetti was cooked perfectly. Really not bad.
We ended up seated for more than 3 hours with water kept refilling even we had our own set drinks. Really a good place for a long chill accompany with something to nibble.
