we were here to celebrate father's day. Well what's a better way to honour our dads other than beer and meat?;) The waitress was very friendly and the place has got a lovely vibe. it's a pub !(even better) I even saw people playing chess there haha the soup: hmmm very buttery and beefy, nicely cooked but you can still feel the tinge from the onionin general quite robust and hearty. the Roast: HEAVEN. Juicy, tender,medium, good beef. They seasoned it just enough so the star was still the bee

gravy is nice and smooth and sumptuous too. Yorkshire pudding was very buttery in all the right reasons
loving the cauliflower mash on the side.
Note: mom asked for WELL DONE roast, waitress got a bit thrown off ... thanks loads for re-searing it for us!!!
Fish and Chips(aka beer battered fish) :spectacular
first of all I love cod. so I'm happy. second of all, it was so nicely cooked that the fish was moist and flaky. batter was crisp. can't complain much.
tartare sauce that came with was so good I ate em all.
mushed peas: possibly the only time I like peas.
Chips mushy on the inside and crisp on the outside. (probably double fried to give it that nice thick crust)
came with a small salad too ! cuts back on the guilt;)
Apple Pie: first of all very pretty to look at. still tastes rustic the apple might be too sour to some but the Vanilla custard makes up for it. Raspberry syrup(reduction?) gives it an extra dimension too.
shame I couldnt drink! the have literally hundreds of beers o.o
overall a very good experience. will come again.
