It’s my friend’s birthday! During our lunch break, we come to central to look for a decent restaurant to have lunch together! We want to sit down and enjoy a catch up, so we pick somewhere which is less crowded. This new restaurant, Ministry of Mussels, is located on the 3/F of the California Tower. The main colour tone of the restaurant is orange yellow grey and black, looks very chic and modern! There are many TV screens everywhere, that means the perfect sports bar for sports lovers. They even
The main colour tone of the restaurant is orange yellow grey and black, looks very chic and modern! There are many TV screens everywhere, that means the perfect sports bar for sports lovers.
They even have a very nice family-friendly kids areas for children to play at, with a ball pit, some bouncy animals etc .Notice the TV at the corner, parents can still watch it when babysitting the children!
Their lunch price is such a bargain, around $200HKD only, but since it’s my friend’s birthday, we want to order different items from the a la carte menu!
Coconut Prawns $128
The whole plate just gives me a very exotic impression, feel like I am in Hawaii. The colour combination is just on point!
The prawns come out deliciously crispy and golden brown, not soggy at all. There is a little bit of sweetness, and a coconutty undertone can be detected. The shrimp taste very plump, served best with that mango salsa sauce providing a bit of acidity to balance this appetiser.
Lobster Bisque Mussels Pot $318
It’s definitely a must-order when we are at the mussel place. There are a total of 4 different kinds of flavours that you can choose from, which include Italian Formaggi, Singapore Chilli Crab, Lobster Bisque and Australian Chilli. We want to choose something more special, that’s why we go with the lobster bisque.
95% of the mussels inside the pot are very big and meaty. Mussels are really great because they produce their own juice in the pot when cooking. That’s why the best thing about mussels is the pool of flavorful juices at the bottom of the pot just begging for some nice charred crusty baguette to be dipped into it. The lobster bisque is rich and thick enough, so that it just hangs and stays on the piece of baguette, this is fingerlickerly GOOD!
Chicken Parmigiana $188
Deep fried chicken breast topped with Cheddar cheese. Look at the size of this dish, HUGE, it covers basically the whole wooden board.
The chicken meat is flattened, covered with breadcrumbs and then deep fried to a crisp. Then, the cheese is hot and melts into the chicken cutlet. The balance of cheese to chicken was incredible. The fries are thin cut and fried to perfection. The side dish coleslaw provides acidic vegetables to clear your palette! Chocolate Lava Cake $108
This lava cake is definitely rich, but not in a bad way. They taste like they were made with premium-quality chocolate. The outside of the cake is fudgy and similar to a brownie, and on the inside, there's a pool of perfectly melted chocolate. And served with a scoop of Vanilla ice cream, hot and cold together provides an exciting feelings to end the meal!
