It’s Winter and we wanted some saba mackerel sushi. The rolled type that I enjoy eating around the Osaka and Kyoto region either called Saba-Zushi (鯖寿司) or Matsumae-Zushi (松前寿司). In Hong Kong this is almost non-existent, most other shops make the pressed box version Hako-Zushi (箱寿司) or the stick version Battera-Zushi (バッテラ) and sometimes they even confuse up the names. .Botan Ebi with Fried Head – $40This is on Special and it’s $10 for both body and head. ~ 7/10.Matsumae-Zushi 松前寿

This is hand-rolled and wrapped under a translucent konbu skin, sometimes a green konbu. This was really fresh and had more decoration on top than the traditional version. The original ones have a larger fish proportion but this was great value for money for 8 pieces ! ~ 8/10

The skin is pressed on the Teppan and making it very crispy. The Unagi below was a little sweet but it was still enjoyable! ~ 7.5/10

The food here in general is pleasant and they also serve other Japanese Kansai regional dishes, such as the Tanindon (他人丼), Yaki-Soba, Okonomiyaki, etc. They also have a Teppanyaki section as well as serving Kansai style Sukiyaki!
