My husband and I enjoyed good food and fine wines, and even home-cooking by ourselves. We particularly like Japanese food and have been going out to enjoy this intriguing cuisine every week for years. Even though we do not search around for every Japanese restaurant in HK, we do go to many good local ones and in Tokyo. We went to Megu since it first opened, out of curiosity. We went to Megu since it first opened, out of curiosity. We are impressed by the beautiful decoration, the very red kimono ceiling and flooring is exquisite and the ‘couple’ sofa seats at the circular sushi bar are most comfortable.
The floor staff are both friendly and courteous. The eager and innovative young local chefs, together with those from other international outlets under the Megu group, continue to provide new and delicious gourmet surprises.
One will never get bored with the ever-changing seasonal supplies from Japan: sardine tartare; live tsubugai; giant Hokkaido scallop; hotaru ika (fire fly squid)....There is also an extensive choice of hot delights: distilled truffle soup; salmon chan chan; assorted steak skewers and the popular beef steak cooked on the hot stone. I do not normally like dessert, but the tempting menu consisting yuzu cake; cucumber pannacotta; salt ice-cream and many other options.
We have been going to Megu on a regular basis and have never been disappointed. One can feel and share the determination and dedication of the team to strive for excellence and improvement.
