This is my first birthday lunch and my friend treated me an Italian dinner which I missed for a long time.I used to have lunch at this restaurant when I worked in the vicinity, and their lunch sets are economical and delicious. However, now the restaurant only offer dinner meals but no lunch meals anymore. I used to have lunch at this restaurant when I worked in the vicinity, and their lunch sets are economical and delicious. However, now the restaurant only offer dinner meals but no lunch meals anymore.
A basket of breads was served, with tomato and garlic as toppings. There were 4 different kinds of bread and they were hot, soft and delicious. The only thing I commented would be insufficient herbs because I preferred bread with strong scene of Italian herbs.
We two people ordered 1 salad and 2 main courses. When we told the waiter that the food would be shared, the waiter divided the salad and the one of the pasta by half automatically. Each portion was still large.
The salad ordered was "Insalata di Caprese" ($138), with Mozzarella, tomatoes and figs with basil leaves in olive oil. This salad (sorry that no photo was taken) was fresh and the sweetness of the figs were appropriate. Rigatoni alla Volka con Salsiccia ($172), with tubular pasta sauteed with Tuscano sausage ragu, Mortadella and Salami strips, flamed with a dash of Russian vodka all tossed in a freshly prepared tomato cream sauce
- this is delicious as I liked pasta in tomato sauce a lot. The tubular pasta is a little bit hard. The tomato sauce are of appropriate creaminess so it would not make you too full. Rotolo Con Ricotta e Spinaci di bufala ($172), with handmade Rotolo sheet pasta spirally wrapped with ricotta cheese and sauteed spinach topped with buffalo mozzarella au-gratin with minced vegetable light cream white wine butter sauce
- this is delicious too as I am a cheese lover. The pasta with spinach should be tasted with the cream sauce to have the savory favour, otherwise it is tasteless. The ricotta cheese is tasty, the cream sauce is a little bit heavy.
Overally speaking, the above dishes were good and were recommended!!
