I have been craving for something meaty lately and nothing is better than finishing up a whole grilled chicken on a Friday night... My friend and I decided to look around for some western cuisine restaurants for a cool place to chill out and enjoy a big feast...we browsed on openrice and there are quite a few people recommended Verde MAR in wanchai... the location is just perfect as my office is just few blocks away.*Drum Rolls* YEAH! *Drum Rolls* YEAH! My favorite chargrilled chicken...The meat was so juicy and tender that it comes off from its bone when u tear it apart. What surprises me is the fresh tomato sauce..it is not condensed as the tomato dip/ paste but rather a very refreshing kind of taste that gives a really good balance on the greasy grilled chicken. The chicken is just so good tho it is a bit pricy.
I am really an adventurous person and I do love challenging different things...Verde MAR has a hot wings challenge and it is claimed to be 2nd hottest chilli in the world... I was thinking... "Why not giving a shot?"...We ordered a habanero chicken wings and IT WAS WAY OUT OF MY EXPECTATION.It was firing hot despite the orangy color of the sauce. I can only eat 1 and my lips and tongue were burning... spicy lovers deinitely gonna love it.
I am a huge fan of ice cream and I always sniff around to discover some creative and new flavours in town...Well..and this homemade corn icecream is definitely what I am after so I ordered a few scopes to share with my friends. The texture wasn't as creamy as I thought but instead it has a really strong aroma of corn and tastes like a frozen corn soup with a pinch of sweetness...pretty much tastes like a corn sobert. It tastes really good and most importantly it makes you feel less guilty even after consuming the entire scope. Definitely a good choice for girls looking for a sugar fix haha.
