I've heard about this place because it once received a michelin star several years ago, which was quite a feat being a local eatery and all. I do enjoy Indian curry every now and then, so one Friday afternoon I dragged several coworkers to try with me. We were seated right away upstairs without reservations. I do enjoy Indian curry every now and then, so one Friday afternoon I dragged several coworkers to try with me. We were seated right away upstairs without reservations. I was expectating Indian style curry and my friend proceeded to ask the waitress what kind of curry they serve on their lunch menu (it doesn't say). We were expecting vindaloo, masala - that type of answer - yet she only responded with there's big spicy, spicy, little spicy, no spicy. We immediately felt our stomach sink but ordered anyways just to see what the hype was about. Each of us ordered a variety of meat like beef, chicken and most ordered little spicy. I made the mistake of ordering spicy. When it came, the difference between little spicy and spicy was quite evident in the color of the curry. Mine was bright red. I couldn't finish mine because it was too spicy and the beef wasn't too impressive either. We all thought the curry was lackluster. It bewilders me how it managed to get a star in the first place since it doesn't really serve authentic curry - it's really more local style. Will not be coming back here again.
