I've lived in Sai Wan Ho for the last 4 years and this place has been one of my favorite places to visit when I crave for some quality sushi and outstanding prices. I've been here countless times but still haven't written a review. So shame! So, I visited last night and the mom and pop reminded me about it and said my words are worthless. So, I visited last night and the mom and pop reminded me about it and said my words are worthless. So, I'm here to prove them otherwise.
I originally was introduced to this establishment by my wife and she called it "Couples" because a very cute and friendly couple ran the restaurant with their son who is very adorable. He loves to speak English and interact with the customers.
About the food, I was very surprised to see how much detail they took with preparing the sushi. I expected it to be a typical Hong Kong sushi restaurant where the owners are just trying to spend the least on the ingredients and charge you the most since they are serving Japanese food. The food is not like a traditional Japanese restaurant but they do create sushi in a very home style way without compromising too much on the quality of food and presentation.
To be honest, I go to this place because it's a perfect mix of a friendly and decent Hong Kong family mixed with reasonably priced sushi which are two things I really enjoy.
The seating is a bit tight but once you are eating sushi and interacting with owners and their adorable son, you'll forget about it and you'll be hooked.
I highly recommend this place to get away from the overpriced Japanese restaurants that pervade this town and to enjoy a new restaurant experience.
So, if the mom and pop are reading this....you know how much I appreciate your restaurant.
