The first problem with this restaurant is that, despite it being titled “Satay King,” there was no actual satay on the menu. The majority of the food was an incredibly mind-boggling fusion mix of Hong Kong and Western fare. The food quality was mediocre at best, with a few dishes missing / incorrect (which they admittedly fixed). The straw that broke the camel’s back, however, was how incredibly long it took for us to get our food. See photo attached: over 45 min. The dishes we were waiting for? Some fried rice dish and another chicken curry over rice dish! Did those really take almost an hour to prepare?!
The service staff also didn’t really seem to care about our plight — refusing to look up to when we tried calling them over, being unapologetic about bringing stuff late / getting our food wrong. I mean I get that typical service in HK is pretty poor but this took the cake.
