As mooncake festival approached nearer, it was time for me to purchase some mooncake. Being a durian lover and unable to travel to Singapore and Malaysia to purchase durian mooncake, I planned to see if there is any durian mooncake in Hong Kong. Through social media platform and some foodie sites, I got to know of this brand named Mr Durian. Upon reaching their stall, they have huge display and banner for their durians as well as dumplings and nougats etc. They claimed that their durian was imported directly from Malaysia, which was the place famous for durian. For their mooncake series, they offered black thorn snow skin, Mao Shan Wang snow skin, lava egg custard and lava durian. They were priced between $298 to $330, and unable to mix the flavour.

Being a fan of snow skin, I purchased black thorn and Mao Shan Wang flavour. They came in a box of 6 pieces, mini in size.

Black thorn was of a higher grade than Mao Shan Wang, and was orange in colour. It was creamy as well, intense in taste, almost melting in my mouth.

Mao Shan Wang mooncake was creamy and bright yellow in colour, bittersweet in taste, with real durian meat in it. Skin was soft and thin in texture.
