I just tried out this new "Caa Caan Teng" for lunch today with five of my colleagues from university. The venue is down a small quaint alley just off Centre Street and has seating for around 14 people inside plus an outdoor terrace at the back. The decor is simple but stylish with a couple of very cool pics of old Hong Kong.We started with some fried appetizers of which the fried wantons with shrimp and pork filling were especially tasty. Also the Fan Coeng was yummy as were the chicken wings. E

The venue is down a small quaint alley just off Centre Street and has seating for around 14 people inside plus an outdoor terrace at the back. The decor is simple but stylish with a couple of very cool pics of old Hong Kong.

We started with some fried appetizers of which the fried wantons with shrimp and pork filling were especially tasty. Also the Fan Coeng was yummy as were the chicken wings. Each dish was well prepared and nicely but simply presented and the quality of ingredients was clearly significantly better than your typically Caa Caan Teng in HK, which the manager informed me was due to everything being sourced from the nearby market in Sai Ying Pun.

The coffee is excellent..I had a macchiato and one of my colleagues tried the Almond Milk Tea, which apparently was also delicious. I also tried their home made lemonade which was very refreshing.

Overall this was a great find...the food is definitely a significant cut above most local Caa Caan Tengs in HK but the prices are still reasonable. I would definitely recommend checking it out if you are in the neighbourhood....
