Let me repeat: it’s the best season for sukiyaki right now. Tonight I visited the Tai Kok Tsui branch of my favourite sukiyaki restaurant. Their house-made sukiyaki sauce is deeply flavourful, mixed with butter and sugar on the hot pot, and it’s one of the best in town. Our pick of beef tonight: Japanese Iwate wagyu & Australian wagyu sirloin. They tasted HEAVENLY and BUTTERY, plus the best part is- the staff cooked and served in front of you. 10/10 experience. Making it even better, here they are known for the nabeyori black truffle rice stew. It’s a REMARKABLY OUTSTANDING taste you won’t forget. We love this so much and keep coming back for it. The staff would cook this for you after you finish eating the beef and vegetables, the rice was mixed with truffle cream, butter, the essence from the beef sukiyaki, and egg drop. Another 10/10 I assure you.

Amazing side dishes: there’re a warming bowl of oden in the set (very yummy broth please drink all of it), we also topped up and got crab kanimiso toasts, and salt & pepper fried Japanese squid. These are insanely delicious as well. The crab miso was so rich and served with extremely crunchy seasoned baked bread chips. Fried squid was addicting and made us want more.

Ended the night with a pineapple & passion fruit drinking yogurt with oolong. Never thought about a tea-flavoured fruity yogurt. I’m a fan of Calpis so this is a yes from me. 🙌🏼
