I have known about Le Canelé d'Or's existence for a while, but not until I started planning for my Paris trip, I actually ordered some canelé from her. Cocktail, 15g - $218/25pcs or $398/50pcs

Flavours:
Traditional - Vanilla/rum
Mediterranean - Orange zest/ liquor
Irish - coffee/ whisky

 I ordered the grand size canelé with assorted flavours. They were delivered in a chill package so to ensure freshness. I was impressed by the pretty box packaging - special made box, in a classy brown colour tied with a champagne ribbon, looking grand and precious. I could already feel the heartiness of the chef just by looking at the box.

 Upon opening the box, a wave of vanilla comes at you. The canelés had a glossy caramelised crust. The crust was thick but extremely crispy to the extend that its like the caramelised crust of creme brûlée. A contrast to the crispy crust was the soft, tender and rich custard inside. I would say the most approximate of it's custard taste would be egg pancakes Hong Kong style, but canelé tasted much better, taste and texture wise.

 If you have never tried canelé before, I highly recommend you to get a box of canelé to try. Perhaps grab a cocktail size assorted canelé to share with your family or friends!
