I have always wanted to try this place but never quite made it.It is located on Whitfield Street near Fortress Hill away from the crowd but saying that quite a lot of people know about this place because it was a full house that night.To be honest, the decor looks more Italian than French.For dinner, there is a set menu which is priced differently according to what you choose.Started with Garlic bread and pate.The pate was really nice but I would have liked the baguette slices without the garlic
It is located on Whitfield Street near Fortress Hill away from the crowd but saying that quite a lot of people know about this place because it was a full house that night.
To be honest, the decor looks more Italian than French. For dinner, there is a set menu which is priced differently according to what you choose.
Started with Garlic bread and pate. The pate was really nice but I would have liked the baguette slices without the garlic butter.
Here was what we had:
+++++++
Pan fried foie gras: A nice starter with pan fried foie gras that was silky and velvety.
+++++++
Sauteed wild mushrooms and parma ham salad: This was my appetizer and I liked the salty parma ham with the crisp salad and earthy mushrooms.
+++++++
French onion soup: The onion soup is an option for those who prefer light soups yet it has a strong onion taste loaded with onions.
+++++++
Traditional lobster bisque: My friend had the lobster soup which was rich with a prawny taste.
++++++
Escargot la Bourguinon: Clean and springy escargots but they needed some salt.
+++++++
French style roast suckling pig: The suckling pig was minimalistic but delicious with the balsamic sauce.
+++++++
French style roasted duck confit: Although it was a bit dry, you get two duck legs which you can share!!
+++++++
Souffle:
Finished off with the ginger and coffee souffles.
The Coffee was very bitter and the ginger had a strong fiery ginger taste. +++++++
