Boyfriend often wonders why I rarely eat in my neighborhood. And every time we do, he remembers why. It's clearly overpriced and not good. Not everything is bad, per say. .Just a majority of the places here.Cheung Sing is a cha chan teng that has been in Happy Valley forever. It's one of two cha chan tengs in my neighborhood. Boyfriend was curious .. why don't we ever eat here? So, on this day, we headed here for breakfast. The cha chan teng has upstairs seating and that is where we headed. Menu

The cha chan teng has upstairs seating and that is where we headed. Menu is in Chinese and English. There is no 10%.
I ordered the all day breakfast that included a sandwich, soup macaroni and drink for $36.
The I chose ham with macaroni in soup. It was ok. Though the ham was bit rough on my tongue. Boyfriend noted the soup tasted like MSG and I looked at him surprised. What did you expect? Homemade soup???? The sandwich was a scrambled egg sandwich. The egg was pretty good. Light and fluffy. Though the bread used was a bit on the thin side so it made it feel oily. I ordered a milk tea. This was ok. Not great. What surprised me was they gave me a disposable plastic spoon. Why would they do that? I've never had a cha chan teng that gave me a disposable spoon if I'm not doing take away. Boyfriend ordered this. Instant noodles with satay beef ($40). This included a drink. He was a bit aghast at the price compared to where he lived as he said where he lived, they offered an omelette as well for the same price. I stressed at that moment that this is Happy Valley prices. There is no cheap eats here. The satay beef didn't have much flavor and the instant noodles were overly soggy. He ordered a cold coffee that was pretty watery. I think this place is truly for those that live in this area or work in the area. At least I wouldn't have come here if I didn't live here. For those that don't live here, definitely not worth a serious trip there to try it out. It's not worth it.
