Drove pass Kowloon City the other day and remembered I read recently that Bosco Wong has opened a new HK style dessert place next to its Oyster restaurant in the area....As an adventurous person, I know I must give it a try (in fact I tried both his restaurants…see my other review)So I arrived at around 10pm on Easter Friday but it is not packed at all… just 70% full maybe cos it’s just opened for less than a week. So I arrived at around 10pm on Easter Friday but it is not packed at all… just 70% full maybe cos it’s just opened for less than a week. The deco is similar to most other HK style desserts places….there are probably more than 10 of these in Kowloon City alone.
We ordered 3 things: the crispy dumplings (糖脆丸子), Asahi Beer Ice cream and whisky soufflé served with dark rum raisins ice cream

The soufflé took the longest to arrive…I can smell a bit of whiskey as it was put onto the table. I managed to take a quick snapshot of it quickly but after 10 seconds the soufflé collapsed =(… the tastes was ok but I would have wished the soufflé wouldn’t collapse so quickly? Also, I can’t taste anymore whisky after the first bite. The dark rum raisin ice cream was nothing special..a bit too sweet to go with the souffle but I would give it a 6 out of 10

The crispy dumplings - This is quite a popular one since every table ordered one. It’s basically a 糖不甩, with baked corn flakes, almonds and walnuts sprinkled on it. I feel pretty healthy eating this one cos I like the nuts instead of the sweet coconuts that they usually serve with糖不甩 but the dumplings themselves were kind of too soft and not chewy enough.. maybe 6.5/10

The Asahi ice cream - Looks colorful with a strawberry on top but doesn’t really match the “beer”…. Well the taste….how do I put it…it’s like eat the foam of the beer, with milk added to it and solidified….so it’s a tiny bit salty but not the other hand quite sweet and full bodies…. It’s certainly edible but is not what I have expected.. I would give it a 5/10

Overall, I definitely won’t recommend you to go all the way to Kowloon City try this restaurant if you aren’t a Bosco fan but if you are just passing by and want a dessert, this place is ok, given the price range is within/ slightly lower than the usual HK style dessert places. The competition is a bit fierce though given so many choice nearby
題外話/補充資料: Apparently, Bosco Wong’s gf comes from a family who owns several restaurants (what I read from the magazines..). maybe that’s why he opened several new ones so quickly… I thought I saw a DJ next to our table and a few familiar faces as well…maybe they are all fds of Bosco/ Bosco’s gf and they are all taking pictures with one of the female staff (Bosco’s gf?)…..well I did a quick googling – no, doesn’t look like her……just FYI
